Partnering with the Slovak Academy of Sciences, IonQ bolsters national security and European quantum communications infrastructure
The Slovak Academy of Sciences conferred the honorary title Doctor of Science honoris causa upon Nobel Laureate Professor Anton Zeilinger, one of the world’s foremost pioneers in quantum physics.
On October 28, 2025, the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic became the thirteenth signatory of the Memorandum on Cooperation in the Development of Quantum Communication Infrastructure in Slovakia. This initiative, led by the National Centre for Quantum Technologies – QUTE.sk, strengthens the collaboration between the scientific and public sectors in building the secure quantum communication networks of the future.
Anton Zeilinger, a pioneer of quantum communication, became renowned for his research on quantum entanglement, quantum state teleportation, and practical applications of quantum cryptography. His experiments laid the foundation for quantum networks and global quantum-secured communication. Collaborations with Slovak physicists and projects demonstrate how his work inspires the development of quantum technologies in Central Europe.
On October 16, 2025, QUTE.sk participated in OpenSlava 2025 at FEI STU in Bratislava – this year focused on showcasing the growing impact of quantum communication and quantum security technologies.
We presented the skQCI project at QCI Connect 2025 on September 16–17, 2025, in Tallinn, where national quantum communication projects from across Europe gathered to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration toward a secure, interconnected quantum future.
